It seems pretty simple to set our goals toward success. Still, the process involves the use of many tools. A lot of people actually set out with a very poor toolbox in the beginning and they don’t reach the place they were hoping to reach. In order to have a winning plan for success in life, there are certain things that are just obvious, required tools that everyone should have if they hope to be successful person. At the top of the list is the ability to change your circumstances when you aren’t happy with the place you now exist. This requires the first tool known as courage.
If you plan to be successful in life, you have a choice to either accept your position or change it. You can’t decide to just plug along in your present condition hoping that someone else will change things for you. You have to create the opportunity in yourself to make a change and this requires courage. Often, people who are stuck in an abusive situation will feel as though they are trapped, controlled, and powerless to get out of that situation. They don’t realize that they have the same choice of changing their circumstances as anyone else. What paralyzes them is the fear of the unknown. They have become comfortable in their abusive situation and they don’t have the courage to break out of it. If you find yourself in circumstances that are obviously lowering your chance of success in life, then you need to change those circumstances. Courage is the first tool that will help you to begin.
After courage, there is another primary tool that you will need in your toolbox. The next major tool that is required is the willingness to persevere toward your goal.
Once you begin to apply the tool of courage, you will immediately be hit with a series of problems and difficulties in your new attempt to become successful. This is especially true in the first few weeks of your new direction in life. Because of this, you will also need the tool of willingness to persevere because courage may only last for a short time. Willingness, however, is a powerful tool that is even stronger than mere courage. It gives you the energy to keep fighting toward your success even in the face of difficulties and challenges. It gives you the ability to keep going no matter what.
Once you make it through those first few weeks on your new direction in life, you are going to need another tool that is even stronger than courage or willingness. You are going to need a solid plan that will be founded on your good sense and your capacity for reasoning and rationality. Courage is great and willingness is even better. These are great to begin with but a courageous attitude and striving ahead with the willingness to achieve success isn’t going to be enough. In order to get you to the top of the mountain, you are going to need more. Eventually, you will need a solid plan to keep you on track and to help you avoid all the difficulties you are going to encounter. You may develop a more rational and reasonable plan for success with a friend or by yourself but you are going to need that plan to be well thought out. Then you are going to have to go back and re-apply your willingness and your courage to put that plan back into action each day.
After a considerable period of time, working in a courageous manner with the willingness to persevere and to think reasonably and rationally in life, you will be well on your way to success. Many people make great strides in their life by simply applying these three tools for success.
What finally arrives as the cherry on the sundae, and which they eventually discover as the greatest tool of all, only comes after first going through the difficult times with courage, willingness and reasoning. Through the use of these three tools, a successful individual may eventually encounter the most powerful tool of Love and this tool may transform their life so as to make everything, which had previously seemed difficult, seem extremely easy and enjoyable.
Using the four tools of success, a person may eventually develop a toolbox which includes the greatest set of abilities a person can acquire. This toolbox filled with courage, willingness, reason and love will make a successful person of anyone and insure them of happiness and fulfillment in everything they do!

We know many of the things we should be doing to be happier, to be more physically fit and to be more financially secure. We know we should set our goals, manage our time, and spend more time with our families, exercise, eat right, work hard, sleep more and have a positive mental attitude. We want to accomplish great feats and to be the best at what we do. And we want it all now.
Why are some people super-successful, while others dwell in mediocrity? Ask almost anyone out there, and I bet they’ll say they want more out of life. They want to be better, to accomplish more or to pursue those buried and forgotten goals. So, why do so many of us fall short of achieving our dreams? We all want success. We all want to be happy. We all want to be self-disciplined and fulfill our wildest dreams. In fact, we don’t just want success; we want massive success.
So, why aren’t we doing these things? The desire is there, right? Does it ever seem beyond your reach? The good news is that if you really want success, you can have it. Success is an open book test in which the answers are right in front of you if you know where to look for them. Everyone has enormous potential. You were designed for greatness. There is something you are predestined to accomplish. Let’s start on your success today. Don’t procrastinate any longer. When you take a look at your life, know that there are no do-overs, reset buttons or mulligans. This is it, so it’s time to make it happen. No longer will you stick your big toe in the pool of success; it’s time to jump in.
We all deserve and desire to be happy, to be truly successful and to have an enjoyable life. We were put on this Earth to be happy. Rather than fretting over the future, you need to enjoy life’s journey and know what it takes to achieve success and happiness. Things will not change with hope and desire alone, although they are great starting points. You also need to take action. You need to have a plan in mind and take control of your life. We all have to find that winning edge that will propel us to the top and help us achieve the things we know we are capable of accomplishing. In this chapter, we are going to take your dreams and desires and turn them into reality.
Remember the open book tests in school and how we could look up the answers?
The answers were there, right in front of us; we just had to be willing to go to the source to find the answer. Metaphorically speaking, all of the amazingly successful people in the world are constantly leaving behind clues or answers-like an open book-that can help anyone become extremely successful. I refer to the polished mastery of these combined skills as the “Exponential Factor.” When you have the Exponential Factor, your potential for success skyrockets to unlimited heights. As the name suggests, your possibilities for success and greatness become exponential.
Life is a fantastic game. We can spend our time either training and winning or waiting in the bleachers of life, watching and wishing we were on the field doing the things we really know we can and want to do. You are in charge of your life. How you live is your decision and yours alone. You can make excuses and rationalize all day why you are not on the field, but until you decide you want to be in the game, that you want to enjoy the victories as well as suffer the bruises and defeats, you will not be happy or reach the success you know you deserve or are capable of achieving.
THE PROBLEMS AND PITFALLS
There are many quick fixes that create excitement and motivation, ones that work for a few days or even months, but eventually after that initial euphoric feeling wears off, we are back to square one. We are back to wanting and wishing, but with no results. Why, after all the flashy seminars and conferences and CDs, are we still only temporarily motivated? Why have we still not arrived at the destination we call success? What is taking us so long? Motivation and personal development is a billion-dollar industry, and it only continues to grow each year. Thousands of books and lectures exist on the topics of success and personal development. They’re all telling us what we want to hear, but where are the lasting long-term results? Why, after so much invested time, is it always back to our warm comfort zone?
I have often wondered why, even in the midst of best intentions, excitement declines and persistence deteriorates. Even the endeavors that are most meaningful to us seem to get lost in the distance when we are confronted by life’s daily setbacks, hassles and frustrations. All too often, the path to success, at times so clearly defined, begins to get blurry again. But lack of long-term success goes much deeper than daily setbacks, hassles and frustrations. Take time to examine where all the detours come from: the self-doubt, the self-sabotage, the nagging, the negative inner voice and the inability to stick to the things you know you should be doing. Sometimes, our lack of persistence stems from the fact that the required behavior is not part of our customary pattern. Other times, it’s because we’re not doing it for the right reasons or in the right way. Sometimes, it’s because we’re trying to treat the surface problem or behavior rather than the underlying issue it stems from. That is, we’re treating the symptoms instead of the disease. It is like trying to get off a car stuck on cruise control.
Whatever the reasons may be, you can’t keep waiting around Are you waiting for a terrible experience to make you change your ways? Are you hoping for a miracle, the lottery or Publisher’s Clearinghouse to change your life? I want to show you how to get started now. This is not just another motivational attempt. These concepts will change your life, will supercharge your success and will bring you happiness. Now it is time to give yourself permission to win.

Exponential success is the mathematical process of multiplying numbers. Remember your math days and the different calculations you used. Remember that 4+4=8 and 4X4 is 16 but 4 to the 4th power is 256. Same numbers still math, same amount of effort of do the math on a calculator but look at the difference in results. This process yields greater numbers than any other mathematical process. Some people are satisfied with minor success throughout their lives, adding to their lives a little at a time. Some people want to multiply the joy they have and the goals they want to accomplish. Learn to demand the most from life and achieve success exponentially.
You must to have the will to win. The desire to make the changes that will bring success and happiness. I will show you how to maintain and sustain desire and drive for your success, not a temporary solution but a lifetime of exponential success and happiness. It will be worth it but it does take some effort.
Just when the space shuttle goes into orbit it has to expend the most fuel getting the momentum to get out of the atmosphere. But once it gets into orbit it expends less energy. Just like ES it is hard at first then it becomes a natural process. Becoming successful is like starting to exercise. At first it starts to hurt and take a lot of mental effort to get to the point where it feels good and is exhilarating. Once you get past this point that is when the energy drive, and determination.
You need to learn to customize a success plan and to your needs, according to your talents, drive, personality, abilities, strengths, and weaknesses. You can’t live exponentially by following a preset predetermined pattern that someone else uses. It will get you close and make you somewhat successful but won’t get you to live exponentially and find your own pattern you need to reach the pinnacle of your success potential.
When you find this pattern and your passion you will reach ES. You will have to be flexible and moldable as you discover the things that will bring you to true success. You have all the pieces you need to find the very best within you and bring you to the pinnacle of your success potential. You are one of a kind, therefore your success plan should be unique.
You want success and to be the best at what you do. No one likes living in mediocrity and not doing the things they know they are capable of achieving. No one likes to feel second class or under accomplished. Everyone wants to be recognized as being the best in something and having great talents and abilities.
We all want it, but why don’t we have it? The desire is there, but where is the action to bring you to the level of success we know we deserve and want? What are you waiting for? What is going to make it happen? Does success get easier the longer we wait? Are we waiting for an terrible experience to make us change our ways? Are we hoping for a miracle, the lottery or Publishers Clearinghouse to change our lives? Lets get started now today at this moment or statistics show it won’t happen.
For Example, It took you 10 years to gain 20 pounds and you won’t lose it over night. It took you years to get deep into debt and you won’t become financially independent overnight. This is a process and not a quick fix. You can’t plant your crops 2 weeks before harvest. You can’t prepare for a marathon 2 weeks before it starts. You can’t cram for a final one hour before it begins. You can’t save for retirement 5 years before it happens. You won’t be successful overnight just because you have the desire.
Dr says we find a need to lose weight and get control of our lives so we run out and get a weight loss system. We spend money on equipment and special food and get excited to lose weight. We know it is important and it will improve our lives but we don’t stick to it. It might last a few weeks, but it is slide back to our comfort zone. Sure it might happen for a few days weeks maybe even months but soon it is business as usual. Why?
It is not part of our customary pattern or natural process and we are not doing it for the right reasons or in the right way according to our individual unique psychology. You need to find out what works for you as a natural process, A natural process is something you can do, something you feel comfortable and exciting and internally motivated to accomplish. This is so we don’t have to strain and go against the grain to become what we want to become.
Your life is your own plot of ground. You can do what you want, plant what you want and you get to decide what you going to harvest or what type of weeds or infestation you will allow. Are you going to water? Are you going to be happy with your plot of ground or ashamed of your plot of ground? This is your choice.
You have started with desire to be and achieve the things you know you want. Desire is the difference between a average person and a high achiever. Be careful because desire and complacency tend to contradict each other. You must decide the complacency and comfort zone is the real reason you are not where you want to be. Sure you can come up with lists of excuses and rationalizations but if you are not on that list you have to back up and take full responsibility for who and what you are and become.
When I started to research success there are many words that start with self- (esteem, image, discipline.) We will get you out of your comfort zone and into the exponential success zone so you can reach your full potential. Learn to push yourself beyond your capabilities. Never cap your ability to be successful; you have never reached your best in all areas of your life. This includes your personal best, you can perform beyond your limits and skills. The plan will unfold a piece at a time. When you are ready to begin the success process the pieces of the plan begin to appear.
We just want to get in control of our lives be happy and find the success that is waiting for us. We leave with a good feelings and desire to make the changes but once we get back to life. There are setbacks we get back to business as usual. No long-term changes or happiness just the same old thing. Why,? We have not found out what it is that make us tick and how to empower ourselves to make that change. You need additional tools, the information was great but until you can put it to action, it has been a waste of time. You have to be able to implement these skills. Many times training can be a quick fix or short term results we want to make lasting changes in our lives.
We have to find that winning edge that will propel us to the top and help us to things we know we are able to accomplish. Once we can get ourselves to do the right things we can start working on success skills that make the difference. We can gain that winning edge the difference between top and average performers.
There are many quick fixes to encourage motivation and temporary excitement that work for a few days or months, but eventually after that initial feeling wears off we are back to square one and back to your comfort zone.

What makes successful people successful?

We would all love to be able to walk down to the local supermarket and pick up a bottle of success. But let’s look past that fantasy and find out one of the most basic reasons why people become successful.

Right now, think of someone that you know personally who is successful. Can you see their face in your mind?

Good.

Now ask yourself this question, “Does this person have a successful routine or set of habits that makes them successful?” I would be shocked if they didn’t.

Sometimes the only difference between being successful and being average is having successful habits. Some examples of successful habits could be getting up earlier, doing thing when they need to be done, being prepared, or effective time management.

So how do you start to build these success habits in your life? Here are 4 tips on creating successful habits.

1. Identify – Find the areas in your life that need changing. Write down these new habits that need to be formed. Don’t become overwhelmed at trying to figure out how you are going to form all of these habits.

2. Pick 2 – Most people sabotage themselves by trying to change everything at once. Instead, pick one major and one minor habit that you want to form. For the next 30-90 days these will be the success habits that you will create.

3. Start small – Now that you have your two success habits, create a daily or weekly routine that is easy to follow. For instance, let’s say that you want to wake up an hour earlier so that you can get more successful things done. Instead of setting your alarm an hour earlier right at the beginning, only set it 2-5 minutes earlier every morning until you reach your goal. This way it would take you 30 days or 12 days respectively to create your success habit.

Remember, the best way to eat an elephant is one bite at a time.

4. Repeat – Once you have created your new habits move on to the next 2 success habits that you want to create. Before you know it you will have created a whole new life full of success filled habits.

Just imagine where you will be in one year if you follow these four keys to creating successful habits. If it takes you only 60 days to create 2 habits, you will have created 12 success habits in just one year!

To be successful is most people’s main goal in life; though what that success actually means to each person is usually very different. So what does success mean to you?
Perhaps you feel that in order to be successful you need more money? Or maybe it could be that you want a family of your own? Success to you could also be that you want to go back to university and study to improve your career prospects? There are so many things that success could be and you have to realise what it is in your life that you want to achieve, in order to know how to be successful.
Achieving Success in Your Life
Now you know what success actually is, how do you go about actually achieving it? Well the answer is simple – you have to take the next logical step forward.
For example, if you feel that to be successful you need to get a better job and earn more money, you first need to understand what to do in order to make that happen. So, sit down and make a list of all of the ways that you could get a new job. Perhaps you need to create a fresh resume or maybe you do not yet have the right skills in order to get the job that you would like? Whatever it is that is stopping you, write it down.
Next you need to figure out how to overcome those obstacles. If you need to create a resume then you may need to look through various tips in order to write one properly. If the problem is a little more complicated such as you do not have the right skills, then maybe you could join a part time course near you in order to achieve those skills needed?
There is always a way around things; though the path may not always be an easy one. The problem many people have is that they just give up before they achieve their success.
It is thought that most people throughout the world are not living the most successful life that they could be leading. That is a shame when you think about how easy it could be once you know just what it is that you want to do. Excuses come into play all of the time yet the truth is that most of the time people are just too scared of their own success. Are you scared of your success? Does change worry you?
If change does worry you then it could potentially hold you back. In that case you will need to understand what it is that scares you and you will need to confront it if you do want to make a success of your life. In fact, if you do manage to conquer your fear then that in itself is a success.
Overall being a success could mean a whole range of things to many different people. It all depends upon your own personal preferences what a successful life is for you. You just need to understand what it is that you want in life and write down your life goals. That way you will know exactly what success means to you and you will also have a clearer idea of how to achieve it.

It is the privilege of man to achieve all round greatness, and in reality success should be one’s habit. Man is essentially perfect, and therefore infinite are the possibilities that lie dormant in him.

In order to bring out the very best from within, a life organized and perfectly disciplined for the discovery of the potentialities that lie lurking within us, is a life well spent.

The vital point is not how many talents each on of us has, but the importance should be focused on how much of our existing talents, attributes and capabilities are we prepared to develop, exploit, explore and implement in our daily lives.

The question you must ask, is whether you are making a practical use of at least one great talent lying inherent within you? The one supreme fundamental principal is to understand that all our success entirely depends upon ourselves.

The best way to be happy is to do the things that you naturally love and enjoy doing – something that you are absolutely passionate about! Likewise the best way to succeed and become wealthy is to see to it that you achieve the things you have earnestly desired to seek in life. This will require that you implement your efforts in to activities that will allow you to measure success.

For instance the simple way to explain this is to take into consideration the following example: if you take a liking for art, painting, and drawing then the way to proceed is to seek guidance on ways to enter competitions, and ways to submit your artwork via galleries (approach galleries directly and leave work on a sale or return basis) or fine art publishers’ or even exposing your talent by entering seasonal fairs where you will find a large gathering of all kinds of retailers.

You may want to add various different types of themes to your art portfolio in order to maximize your capabilities to reach an audience far and wide with interests in different themes/subjects.

Contact groups, forums and even Internet newsgroups and explore various other avenues (such as photographers, photo and framing galleries, arts councils and government organizations that provide help including loans etc.) that will allow you to step up your enquiry – the idea is to pursue the goal relentlessly and with a positive attitude.

As far as your theme/subject matter is concerned post questions, polls, surveys, and determines what people are looking for, and then simply find the need and fill it.

Every little will help, but it is the force required to get the momentum going and that is the key point. Another useful point is not to just try, try and to continue trying – instead develop an attitude whereby you DO the thing you have decided to pursue, implement and apply the strategies shown here.

Finally do not just stop at that – keep faith and do not yield to any defeat. Once you have decided to put the ‘plan’ into action, make sure that it is kept ignited and glowing…rejections and disappointments should in no way curtail your hope, progress and your desire to success. People who have succeeded despite all the hardship, pain and struggle have inspired countless millions around the world – it is time you too set an example for others to follow in your footsteps.

You must remember that the methods employed by different individuals in procuring wealth may be distinct, but the goal is common to all, and the steps spoken of earlier are in effect your tools to your overall success.

Very strong willpower is needed in order to develop internally, and the need for two most important attributes, namely courage and confidence are essential ingredients. Thus poverty and prosperity does not necessarily depend on knowledge wholly (e.g. business acumen, marketing strategies and so on) but it certainly depends on the three C’s and they are character, creativity and your innate capabilities.

Courage and confidence alone can bring about unique transformation while the opposite will only bring much sorrow and despair in times of distress and crisis. However, despite life’s problems we should resist obstacles and hindrances and as such constantly remind ourselves of the supreme inherent or innate power which we all posses and which we can all successfully develop through spiritual insight. Thus ignoring our abilities and potential for developing the personal power that we need for going through ego-breaking experiences requires immense fortitude and discipline, and I explain to you in this article on how you could achieve all this here and now.

Without these qualities you are destined to fail, and that is the reason why a large portion of people feel despondent because they got into competition or they simply gave up under pressure, through lack of self-courage and dynamic willpower.

When our fantasies and expectations are not fulfilled, there is a tendency for us to revert to our old ways – the hollowness we experience can be most annoying and we cannot ignore it forever. A lot of the time what exactly happens is that whatever good we undertake in life, it does not mean we will continue. This is not because an impossible discipline is required but because we lack courage and confidence we are overwhelmed with negative attitude – this is what stops everything in its tracks!

The initial burst of enthusiasm begins to fade, and what seemed so wonderful becomes a peril a dilemma and a problem. The mind takes over and questions surmount raising doubts after doubts whether the whole idea or concept is worthwhile – a conflict ensues, the mind says the one thing and the intellect and our intuition urges us to follow the path to ‘success’.

Even before we begin the journey the end is imminent, because we are undecided what true path to follow. Success lies in what you make of it not what you ‘think’ it ought to be (do not fantasize success).

So how can we get started?

Formula to Success

What you think and how you then act is the deciding factor that will help you discover the goal of success. These two attributes are important together with a set of consistent principles, which you follow through. Thoughts based on reason are a powerful catalyst to start any reaction, and once you set off, you will soon realize that courage is the simple virtue needed for a human being to traverse the rocky road.

Obstacles are natural, and they are a means to the source of acquiring wealth, as I am sure you will agree. Persistence, patience and perseverance will have to be practiced religiously to reach the goal and to overcome the obstacles. Of course that said, I would now like to point out the P’s that you should frown upon.

Do not procrastinate, do not pretend that you know it all and finally do not prolong your ‘venture(s)’. Be prepared to fight the stumbling blocks that may confront you, but pursue your goal and allow your potential willpower to predominate.

In any situation in life, it is unequivocally important to remain level headed, despite all the ‘ups and the downs’ that we are likely to face. Remember life is dualistic by nature – the obverse and the reverse sides of the same coin to put it simply. I am compelled to add that though we know that the past is the cause and the present is the effect, it is self evident that with time the present itself becomes the cause with reference to the future.

There is a very deep meaning embroiled in this syntax, and if you can relate this to success, then it can be said that if we intelligently live in the scientific self-discipline, we can become the architects of our own future.

The Basic Steps

The following guidelines will help you pave a wonderful path to your ultimate success.

The steps are very simple to implement in your daily life.

1. Do what you love and what you are good at.

2. Be prepared to learn and to be positive (motivation and enthusiasm).

3. Be an innovative individual.

4. Be prepared to invest not just money but your time, effort and resources, too.

I mentioned money – this does not mean that you have to invest a large sum to become a millionaire or wealthy.

5. You must be disciplined in having set goals and targets. Remember that persistence is the key to success.

6. You must be prepared to manage your time effectively.

7. As you evolve, learn to give back what you amass to the society. I call this philanthropy.

You must have a solid vision – one in which you ‘see’ yourself having attained success. Great people of the past and present see to it that they reach this coveted position, by employing these basic steps.

However, notice in step 2 I deliberately used the word ‘learn’, and that too for a very good reason. Life is the greatest teacher, thus you must be willing to accept challenges all the time (using the power of discrimination) and thus as a result you must learn via its eternal principles the magnificent doctrine it has revealed with the passing of time. This means that you must act when the time is right.

Action is incredibly important and highlights success – the two are synonymous to be quite honest. To succeed action is needed but the essential ingredient is how serious you are. Being too serious can ruin your business venture, so the point is to have FUN.

Any discipline will require organization and orderliness. You must as I mentioned in the introduction be prepared to listen to your inner voice as much as you possibly can. This means that rather than being too dependent on your family, friends and so on (not that this is bad) begin to have faith in your own capabilities.

Stand-alone and strive to learn and succeed. Often, failures may just result from instances where we have stopped exercising our own views, or we have become too dependent on others’.

Success is not some secret that you have to search for or unearth in order to reach your destination; it is rather the understanding or the recognition factor that you develop with respect to what you really want in life. Intuition, courage, skills, knowledge, challenges and opportunities are some of the concepts that determine the traits of people who enjoy wealth. Any task performed with the right spirit will give you victory. Mental attitude is what will give you success, but negative attitude, laziness and working unwillingly will result in failure.

Do not expect too much in too short a time, but your approach should be positive and execute your task with absolute perfection, paying particular attention to your long-term goal(s). This means that you approach your duty with concentrated energy and you execute your plans righteously. This should be your philosophy of life.

To begin a new venture, it vitally important that you realize the following, which I have to say is crucial. You have to appreciate the fact that to start a business you need to acquaint yourself with the term cash flow. Investment in the form of a capital is a requirement, but more importantly it is the concept of viability of the business venture that matters most.

Steps to Personal Wealth

Decision-making is perhaps the hardest step to get over with in your quest to begin the journey to wealth. The problem is until you do not delve deep within yourself to unlock your innate qualities chances are that you will be indecisive and hesitant. This is not wrong as such, but more often than not this ‘feeling’ may not allow you to maximize your full potential.

There is no secret to unleashing your full-blown potential – the ‘secret’ lies in your willingness to listen to your inner voice. The initiative to seize a good opportunity that comes your way is by undertaking the task in a methodical way.

Sit quietly, calm your senses and thoughts, and meditate deeply on the subject matter in question. Do not jump into anything at once just because the idea seems favorable. Most things appear very ‘good’ in the initial phase, but thinking, planning and time are a prerequisite. Often it is something within that will tell you what to do. The secret is not necessarily from without, but can be acquired from within.

Striving to do your very best at all times is the little secret that will help you amass wealth. Imagination (I mean constructive imagination) which is the power to visualize is an important factor in creative thought – but as you will appreciate you will not be able to do this without a strong will, and above all this faculty of visualization has to be ripened into firm belief and conviction.

1. You must have the desire to achieve your goal of fame – this is rule number one.

2. Be prepared to handle money efficiently with respect to budget, expenditure and responsibility and/or accountability.

3. Do not spend more than you are required to and spend less than you make.

4. Personal problems, including addiction not only to drugs etc., can be ruinous. This is something that must be taken care of from the very onset.

5. Figure out ways to invest and above all begin to save money. You will have to play smart and get your priorities absolutely right.

In any venture, it is likely that you may face a lot of antagonism, a far cry from an idealistic situation. Over expectations, over optimism and the tendency to ‘wish’ that things run as planned, can and often may lead to failure.

Thus as mentioned earlier planning is very important to your success. Of course the other factors that one needs to consider also are over work and exhaustion. In the hope to make your millions, the probability is that you will become a frustrated wreck and become quite despondent – this will not be helpful in your progress or pursuit to wealth.

Achieving Your Goal

When you persist refusing to accept failure, know that the object you have set out to achieve will materialize through the dynamic willpower.

Thoughts can be incredibly powerful tools, and if you are willing to implement this divine gift then you are sure to attain your goal. If you cling to a certain thought with dynamic willpower, it assumes a tangible outward form.

Now is the time to cauterize the negative characteristics inherent in the form of habits, lack of strong willpower, lack of confidence, hesitance and wrong attitude towards life in general. You have within you the power to accomplish everything you want, that power lies in the will. The root cause of failure in life is lack of concentration – do not hoard yourself with ideas, concepts and strategies all at once in the very hope to succeed. Begin slowly and be consistent in your goal setting scheme.

Focus your attention on one thing at a time, and do not allow your MIND to go in a state of ‘over drive’. There is a scientific way of utilizing concentration, and the magic word is to keep calm, while you perform all your duties with the correct speed.

Do NOT rush and create chaos, but rather methodically and meticulously focus and centre your whole mind on whatever you undertake, and the important thing is to keep your mind flexible.

Once you know that you are genuinely on the right tracks and on the path to achieving your goal, do exercise care as far as time management is concerned. It is often very easy to get involved with a project so much so that you can get carried away in perfecting whatever it is that you are doing.

You must prioritize your work and above all respect and honor the value of time – do not waste your time and your life!

The Keys to Success

As I have mentioned the environment plays a huge role as it is quite inevitable – particularly our inner environment.

A calm relaxed individual is far more likely to come out a winner in a trying situation than his/her counterpart – a person who his nervous frustrated and erratic. The former has his senses fully identified with the environment in which he places himself.

However, the restless individual does not understand the environment and consequently gets into trouble. The keywords are focus, concentration and care in whatever you do in life.

1. Develop a definite and a clear-cut goal/aim.

2. Draw up a wise workable plan/program.

3. Guard your health. Without health there is no real wealth.

4. You must conserve your energy.

5. Be honest in your life (in words, deeds, thoughts and actions).

6. Stick to virtues and adopt good principles.

7. Reflect upon ideal personalities and seek strength from their philosophy.

8. Seek divine guidance and be truthful.

9. Endeavor to help and serve others with gratitude.

10. Always think positive and believe in the power of God.

Transformative thinking is indeed the way to success. Set out a plan to achieve your goal and deliberately ruminate over the meaning of this plan and make it happen.

From time immemorial great people from all walks of life have emerged as true victors and the reason behind this is training the mind for happiness. Ethical discipline is essential, particularly self-discipline.

Each individual is unique. What is good for person A may not be suitable for person B. However, it has to be emphasized that all can enjoy quietude, solitude and silence, and to be honest every individual irrespective of age, caste, creed, color, sex has at some stage or another experienced peace.

After discovering through trial and error method, you can determine the precise way to compose your mind body complex and thus attain great heights.

Meditation may not be effective for all, but that does not mean that you do not improvise such methods as and when required.

Be systematic, and your only goal should be to employ methods that bring you success and happiness.

Our mental faculties determine our actions, and it is quite obvious that the mind should be tamed and subdued. Constant vigilance is necessary and continuous training of the mind will pave the path to ultimate success.

Do not fall prey to the dictates of your mind!

Optimistic, heroic and noble ideals have a powerful and uplifting effect upon the body. Enthusiasm with deliberate well-orchestrated self-application in joyous mood and absolute optimism is the secret path to wealth for all great men.

Everyone wants to learn the secrets of being successful in life. There are many people who have achieved success in this world. We seek to know how did they manage to achieve it, so that we can become successful like they are. We read a lot of books about how people become successful, but yet so many of us are still struggling with achieving our own success even though we posses such knowledge. What is the mystery that is holding people back from the success that seems so elusive to achieve?

We are taught that to be successful, you must have goals in life. You must work hard towards them and you must take advantage of opportunities that come your way. You must take a lot of action and make lots of mistakes in order to learn from them. You must be disciplined and diligent in your work. You must think creatively and try all kinds of ways to get results. You must get to know the right people who can help you. You must believe in yourself and you must persevere all the way until success.

Thinking about success this way makes it seem like it is so hard to achieve. It seems to take a lot of effort and energy. It seems that success is something that doesn’t come to us, but we must fight for it. We wonder why life is such a struggle. Why can’t we just relax and enjoy living it. Why can’t we simply experience everything we desire in an easy and effortless way. It just seems so wrong that this is the nature of success. The truth is that it really is wrong to think that success is so difficult to get.

The reason why we have been taught all those things about success is because it has been studied from the wrong angle. There are people who try to study the secrets of successful people and to figure out what is it that they do to achieve big things. They try to study their actions and their characteristics. But they are looking at it from an outside-in perspective. They do not know what’s really going on in the inside of these people. Sometimes even successful people also teach from an outside-in perspective.

But when you look from an inside-out perspective, someone who appears to have persistence, is simply doing something because they have a great desire to fulfill an idea that they have. It is not that they are trying to persevere in doing something, but it’s that they just can’t stop doing it because it’s something they want to express or create. Perseverance and persistence isn’t even on their mind. It’s ridiculous to drive yourself to do anything at all. They are just being totally driven in the direction they are taking.

They do not try to set goals to achieve things, but they are following what is already in their heart to do. They do not go around searching for opportunities and grabbing any they can find. They simply do what their heart desires to do, and to go for anything that allows them to express more of it. Situations show up along the path that they are on to bring them further and to greater heights. They do not try to network with as many people as they can, but they simply relate with those they are drawn towards.

When you do something you are naturally drawn towards, all the energy, drive and opportunities will just show up to aide you along. That is because what is in your heart is your purpose. The universe has chosen and created you for a special part in everything, and it is directing you from within. The universe has also arranged everything necessary for the fulfillment of your purpose to be present along the path. You are not trying to create anything at all because it is all already there when you step into it.

People can try to set goals and work hard and do all the things necessary to achieve success and succeed at it. But they still won’t be truly happy and fulfilled when they achieve it. That is because they have set out to achieve what they think they should achieve when it isn’t really what they want. They bought into the world’s idea or someone else’s about what success is, rather than allowing spirit to guide them. True success is expressing what makes you happy deep down within and living it fully.

You can also follow your passion and do what you truly desire to do and still find it such a struggle. That is because you are trying to work at it rather than allowing it to work through you. You may be doing something you like, but end up doing it for something else rather than doing it for the pure expression of it. That is why many people who started out doing what they love end up being miserable because they strayed from the path. You must always remember to focus on doing because you love doing it.

The characteristics of success are what is observed when looking at it from an outside-in perspective. We miss the point when we are trying to model the ways by which successful people achieve their success when they are simply following their personal guidance. You cannot look at what someone else is doing and follow it to get what you want. You have to do it your own way by allowing yourself to be guided from within. You have to shine your own light just like they shine theirs. Follow your purpose.

We are taught that you must have the right mental attitude in order to flourish at what you do. But the right mental attitude will be present naturally when you do what you love, rather than trying to love what you do. If you simply do not love what you are doing, then you shouldn’t do it because it is not what the universe has chosen you to do. You must change to doing what you truly love because that is where your success is waiting for you to live it. Love comes naturally when you do heart work not hard work.

I recently became aware that I slip in and out of this money thing—One minute I’m in love with money, the next minute I’m trying to figure out how to exist without it.

Well, I’ve decided to go back to being in love with money and to stop making excuses for wanting it and getting it. I realized there is an alignment that needs to take place within me—an inner alignment that transcends outer influences…a cooperation with self.

Apples = Money

Know that money is a means to an end. It’s like knowing you need apples to make an apple pie. So, let’s say you intend to have apple pie. Therefore, you intend to get apples to make the pie. Or, you intend to get the pie already made. Both ways, apples are involved, and you probably have a fondness for apples.

In this analogy, apples represent money. To take this analogy further…Involved in your intention to get the apples (money) to make your pie (your dream), you start to make a plan to get the apples based on what’s readily available. You might think to yourself whether you have to go out to get the apples at a market, whether the market has the kind of apples that are good for baking, whether you want to save money on the apples or save money on gas by choosing a market closer to home even if the apples cost more.

The plan you choose to get the apples will be based on how you feel about what is required of you to get them (the effort).

Side Bar

Time and experience has taught me to leverage the most result with the least effort. However, I learned through trial and error that least effort does not mean lazy or no action. More often than not, least effort means going into your “discomfort zone” as Dr. Robert Anthony puts it. It can mean finding new ways of solving problems and moving into a limitless mindset that tends to gravitate towards solutions instead of problems. That said; let’s get back to our apple pie.

Determine Your Plan

The last point I made before launching into the side bar was…The plan you choose to get the apples will be based on how you feel about what is required of you to get them (the effort). Add to that, the benefit(s) you receive from your efforts. In other words, if you’ve taken time to give thought to the effort, you may have come up with a list of determinants to help you choose the action plan, such as:

1) What else can I get while picking up the apples?

2) How can I keep from making more than one trip?

3) Do I have my shopping/errands list with me prior to leaving home?

4) What other ingredients do I need?

5) What’s on the list that needs additional action?

6) Are there other things that need to be put into place before I go further?

7) How do additional errands fit into my plan?

8) Should I do that other errand first?

9) Can I use this effort to make more than one apple pie?

10) Can I make more pies to sell or give as gifts?

Even if you choose to have a ready-made apple pie delivered to your door with seemingly no effort on your part, you still made the decision based on what felt best to you at that moment and also on how you felt about the business you placed your order with (trust level) …maybe you’ve tasted their pies before or maybe you decided to be adventurous. You hopefully gathered the info you needed to make your choice and you moved forward and took action.

Action & Memory

Now that you have a plan based on how much leverage (benefits) you get out of it, you can take the action(s) called for while remembering to pick up your benefits along the way and while remembering to look at your list (plan) from time-to-time. This helps you to keep your focus on the tasks and on the initial inspiration and motivation…The apple pie (your dream).

No Money, No Apples? Not Really

Some of you clever folks may ask “what if I don’t have the money to get the apples, much less the pie?” My answer is to keep the dream alive while you intend and decide to get the money, or a free pie. Or, maybe you’ll come to the conclusion that what you really want is something sweet and that you can eat bread with honey which you already have. Working with what you already have is always a plus.

However, the fact that you don’t have the money to afford an apple pie or its ingredients still points to an issue with money that needs to be resolved.

Enough About Apples (for now)…Show Me The Money!

1) Start with the dream.

2) Realize that the object of your dream already exists (whether in parts or in whole).

3) You decide how to acquire the means (money) for your dream based on what’s available and where.

4) Your feelings will help you decide on whether you’re willing to step into a discomfort zone and a limitless mindset to acquire the means (money).

5) You think in terms of creating solutions rather than problems.

6) You decide which effort(s) for acquiring the means (money) gives you the most leverage (benefits).

7) You take action while remembering the benefits and focusing on the dream.

It’s Not Over Yet

You’ve probably heard of the book by Marsha Sinetar entitled Do What You Love, the Money Will Follow…I love that book; it really allowed me to think about what I really wanted to do.

The actions you take to get the means (money) can be (or at least resemble) what you love to do. However, let’s be clear that doing what you love is not the dream in and of itself. The dream is the feelings and experiences you imagine having while doing what you love. Your dream boils down to how you want to feel.

If you decide you want to get that feeling some other way, it’s ok because we all will have a million dreams throughout our lifetime. So, here’s an idea…Pick a dream that’s so BIG that you smile when you think about it whether it is to have a dream house, a dream lifestyle, a dream career, or a dream business.

Think from the end the way we did with the apple pie. Know that it is achievable, no matter how big it seems. Make a plan, follow the plan, and expect sweet surprises along the way.

Enjoy the Process of Creation

Enjoying the process of creation gives you that feeling of timelessness and bliss as you go about putting together the ingredients to bring your dream into existence. This is the essence of abundance.

At those times when it seems that life is giving you a reason to go off your plan…This is the time to dig in and stick closer to your plan. Do not take your focus off of a cooking pie or at least set a timer as a reminder to check on it. Also, choose an object that you can look at or hold that represents your dream—look at it, hold it, and affirm your dream everyday.

Eat Your Apple Pie…Live Your Dream

Now that you’re actually looking at the apple pie (your dream) you wanted, it means that your intentions and efforts have worked. It may also be that the momentum generated from your intentions resulted in your receiving your dream from a completely unexpected source. We’ve all heard of this happening. It’s happened to me.

Your pie may look too good to eat. Eat it anyway and bake other pies. The same with dreams… Sometimes we don’t achieve our dreams because we have a fear of not having anything to live for after the dream is achieved, or maybe a fear of success. There’s no need to fear…Just remember that even after we get our dream there’s still room for growth, improvement, and maintenance. The journey never ends and you can choose peach pie the next time around.

The Jitters

There’s something you need to be prepared for as you experience the blissful feeling of creation I mentioned earlier. This blissfulness can sometimes be followed by slightly sickening feelings that can come with any kind of change, including guilt, sadness, fear and anxiety.

These feelings are usually temporary and can sometimes disappear during a chat with a supportive friend, a walk, a break, a nap and maybe even some chamomile tea. Examine where these feelings may be coming from. Be gentle with yourself. Embrace all of your feelings and bring them into your experience. In other words, use them to move you forward.

These uneasy feelings could also be the jitters that can come because your body knows you’re moments away from stepping into your discomfort zone.

I can attest to the jitters because, in a few hours from now, I will be teaching my very first tele-class. I have taken many tele-classes over the years, but this is the first one where I am the teacher. I’m feeling all kinds of sensations in my body, from joy to fear to calm.

I’m doing this class because I know it will help my own personal development and leadership skills that lead to more money to ultimately manifest my dream.

In addition, there is the heart-centered work that matters, not only to me but to the folks that will be listening in. It gives me a great sense of satisfaction knowing that I will be departing knowledge to people who want a change in their lives. In this tele-class, I will teach people what is involved in becoming a coach like me but in their chosen niche.

This is a free tele-class to kick off the start of the 14 weeks to life coach certification. If you feel like supporting me on this free call and learning something at the same time, you can get the details at www.JacquelineBurroughs.com . You may also shoot me an email to request the class materials to follow along at Jacqueline@IAmJLove.com . The date and time of the free tele-class is Monday, November 24, 2008 at 7pm EST.

I wrote this article from beginning to end without getting bored or distracted because it’s about something I love…Apple pie and money. And now that I have opened a vein about my view on money as a way of acquiring your dream, I am available to help people go after their dream and the money to make it happen with confidence and heart. I can be contacted at the email address mentioned above.

A traditional success program is any product, program or system designed to show you “how to do something.” As we’ve already seen, this is a good idea â?? after all, if you want to do something, like drive a car, tie your shoes, or make a million dollars, it makes sense to learn “how” to do it.

So in traditional success programs, they teach you what I call the How-To’s of Success. It was perfectly logical to teach human beings how to do the thing called “succeed” â?? because, as I’ve already shown you, everyone wants to do it!

But here’s where we run into a little problem â?? a $411 Billion problem. With Americans spending more than $11 Billion a year on self-help products individually â?? and with the problems associated with this issue costing corporate America over $400 Billion a year â?? you would think that no one would ever be stuck, right? And that everyone who’d been using these programs would be living the life of their dreams, right?

Well, it sounds good. Unfortunately, we know it’s just not true. We all know people who appear to have everything in place to be wildly successful, yet who are still holding themselves back.

The answer to why traditional success programs have failed so many people lies in what I’ve already shown you. Traditional success teachers have given us the How-To’s of Success because they made a critical assumption, an assumption they made without ever thinking about it, because it was totally illogical to think otherwise. And the assumption they made was this:

Traditional success programs gave us the How-To’s of Success, because they assumed that you and I and everyone else had more Why-To’s of Success than Why-Not-To’s of Success.

They actually had it half right. Everyone does have more Why-To’s of Success than Why-Not-To’s of Success â?? but only on the Conscious level!

The problem does not lie in learning more “How-To’s” of Success. The problem lies in uncovering your Why-Not-To’s of Success. Because your Why-Not-To’s of Success are essentially invisible to you, because they exist almost exclusively in your Subconscious mind.

Here is the most amazing part about all this â?? and it represents the key to your freedom, success and fulfillment:

You can know all of the How-To’s of Success, but if you have more Why-Not-To’s of Success than Why-To’s of Success â?? even if those Why-Not-To’s exist on the Subconscious level â?? you will not allow yourself to succeed to your full potential, no matter how many How-To’s of Success you know.

The Success Study Program©

The path to take you from where you are now to where you want to be quicker than you ever thought possible!

This program is dedicated to all those before us who have clearly shown the world that “There is nothing impossible to him who will try” as Alexander the Great once said.

Additionally I’d like to say a very special thank you to

Janine Allis, Justice Kirby, Glen A Gerryn, Margaret Lomas, Dr.     Steven R. Covey and Catherine Ryan Hyde – whom I admire very much and who all gave their precious time to respond to my interview.

“Knowing is not enough, me must apply.

Willing is not enough, we must do”

                                                  – Leonardo da Vinci

Why read this program? Because the application of one idea in it may be all you need to take your life to the next level.

It will help you find precisely what it is you are aiming for.

Success is simply the achievement of a goal. Therefore if you have taken the necessary steps to arrive at that goal you will have achieved success.

We will be focusing more on the steps to success – the actions needed to take you to where you want to be more than focusing simply upon your goals. Why? Because once you have determined your goals you know them… What separates two people who both have a goal of wanting to achieve something? The actions they take.

Welcome to the world of possibility…
Welcome to The Success Study Program.

The inspiration that wells within…

“When the impossibility has been eliminated,

whatever remains… is possible” –

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

Once upon a time… a defeated man was drudgery walking past an old pawn shop. His gaze then shifted to an old gun for sale – he thought seriously that this could be the answer to all his problems… to kill himself. Instead, he continues to walk into a library and begins to read books on success and motivation.(1)

Where does he end up? Without doubt, during his era he became “the most widely read inspirational and self-help author in the world.” (2) His name was Og Mandino.

Once upon a time… another defeated man was temporarily homeless. He was a struggling actor and felt as though he had almost no options left… He had accepted rejection after rejection after rejection at auditions. He then continued to write 9 screenplays but did not sell a single one.

He became a hermit; disconnected his phone, and did not meet anyone – and continued to write. He then moved to LA where his car blew up, yet still he continued to write. He had less than $100 to his name. He felt as though his situation was the worst it could be.

Then he watched the Ali vs. Wepner fight – which he said the public called a ‘joke’ – that Wepner would hardly go three rounds – yet, he went 15 rounds with the world heavyweight champion – of which very few fighters can claim. He then wrote the entire script for a movie within 3 and a half days.

Where did he end up? The script was for a movie called Rocky which won 3 Academy Awards & launched Sylvester Stallone’s multi-million-dollar movie career and the rest is history…(3)

Once upon a time… Another surely defeated man was a withering figure of skin and bones – having survived a plane crash in the Andes mountains, seeing his mother dead and his sister die and 72 days with almost no food or water in a climate where temperatures could and did easily reach 35 degrees below zero. He stood before a mountain – a mountain considered as one of the biggest mountains in the Andes.

Where did he end up? He became a successful racecar driver, married the woman of his dreams, became very successful in business and has delivered countless motivational speeches to help many thousands of people throughout the world.(4)

Once upon a time… a young African American grew up in the ghetto’s of Chicago whereby the statistics say he’d either be in jail or dead. In fact he said, “It was a good month if nobody you knew got killed. Those months were few and far between”. He became a millionaire by the age of 14!(5)

Once upon a time a defeated man, had just witnessed over three hundred thousand of his troops retreat to English shores… Nazi Germany defeating almost the entire of Europe. His response…

“… I feared it would be my hard lot to announce the greatest military disaster in our long history… But another blow which might well have proved final was yet to fall upon us… Even though large tracts of Europe and many old and famous States have fallen or may fall into the grip of the Gestapo and all the odious apparatus of Nazi rule, we shall not flag or fail. We shall go on to the end, we shall fight in France, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender” – Sir Winston Churchill(6)

YOU ARE NEVER DEFEATED!

No matter what your situation… no matter who you are… no matter where you are – you have the ability to use all of your potential and become the best you can be.

A wise person once revealed the secret to success as follows…

“There’s no secret about success.

Did you ever know a successful person who didn’t tell you about it?”

 - Kin Hubbard

Or as the success literature points out – there is a ‘science’ to success.

And so this is what we shall now uncover.

We shall now embark on a quest for the Holy Grail secret of success by finding the common denominator of all who are successful.
